Millbeck Green Footpath Update

Residents will be aware of the hole that developed on the Millbeck Green footpath in 2025 which has affected public access. The Parish Council understands the concerns this has raised and remains committed to keeping the community informed as work progresses.

To ensure public safety, the affected area was fenced off and temporary barriers and warning signage installed. More recently, a meeting was held with consulting engineers to reassess the situation and explore possible technical solutions. This work is helping the Council better understand the cause of the issue and what is required to repair and stabilise the site.

Following this advice, the Council is now exploring next steps, including consulting with relevant organisations such as the Environment Agency and if necessary, commissioning an independent environmental assessment. These measures will ensure that any repair work is carried out safely and in line with regulations. Further updates will be shared as plans develop.
