IRONMAN Leeds 2026 – Information for Residents

Residents are advised that IRONMAN Leeds 2026 will take place on Sunday 16 August 2026. The event is based at Roundhay Park and includes a swim, cycling route and marathon course across parts of North Leeds. The event is expected to attract a large number of athletes, supporters and visitors to the area.

As a result, there may be temporary road closures, traffic restrictions and delays on the day. Previous events have affected a number of communities across North Leeds and surrounding areas.

Residents are encouraged to:

  • Check whether planned journeys may be affected.
  • Allow extra travel time where necessary.
  • Review road closure and access arrangements in advance.
  • Plan ahead if carers, deliveries or essential appointments are required.
  • Check official event information before travelling.

Emergency service access will remain available throughout the event, and designated crossing points will be in place where required.

Residents wishing to support the event can also find information on spectator viewing areas, parking arrangements, event schedules and athlete tracking through the official event pages.

Further information, including route maps, road closure details, travel updates and spectator information, can be found here:

Please note that the Traffic Impact page also includes a live road closure map, which residents and visitors can use nearer the event date to check closures, affected routes and access arrangements before travelling.

Further updates will be shared as information becomes available.
